A blog from the airport
This isn't any old airport blog. Today is Thanksgiving! I sit here in the waiting lobby, eagerly waiting to board my plane to head back to Wisconsin. I haven't seen my family since moving out here, and I am so excited to be around them. In the next two days, I will see almost all of my extended family again.
Family has always been incredibly important to me, and with moving to Utah, I won't be seeing them as frequently. This certainly makes the opportunities to see everyone again all the more special. I will cherish every trip or holiday where I get to see them once again. I'm sure many stories, laughs, and memories will be exchanged.
As I reflect this Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to give thanks. I am thankful for:
- An incredibly supportive family who is so close. They have always been my support, and I wouldn't be where I am without them.
- The incredible start to my professional career. It all started with a great education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point paired with numerous internships. I now work in Salt Lake City at Lucid, a company with incredible culture where it is genuinely fun to come to work.
- The ability to travel, even during these strange times. This is my first time in an airport since the pandemic, and I am happy that I am able to get back to my family.
- My friends. Both sets of them: My longtime friends from Wisconsin who are so excited for me in this new journey; My newfound friends in Utah who have helped me enjoy my first half a year in this new state.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all have an incredible day wherever you are.
