It becomes so easy to neglect the little joys of life. I am certainly guilty of doing so, as I am sure many others are too. Recently I have actively tried to become more conscious of what is around me, especially taking note of things that contribute to my well-being and happiness.
Take, for example, my evening walk around the Sugarhouse Park loop. As I was reflecting during my walk, I thought to myself "Wow, how nice is it that I have this giant park right by my apartment?" "How nice is it that this park has a very wide lane dedicated for walkers and runners?" "How nice is it that I have such an easy way to get some exercise?"
All those little things can turn into one really big thing. Realistically, we have a lot to be thankful for every day, and for me, this kind of appreciation goes a long way towards my positive outlook and daily happiness.
So hey, try being thankful/appreciative, no matter how small the thing is.
